How do I get my throat to stop hurting from heartburn?

The other day I had a nasty case of heartburn and now, it feels like from my sternum up to my adam’s apple is swollen and very painful. I went to the doctor, but he just gave me stuff for heartburn. Is there anything I can do for now to get rid of the pain and discomfort in my esophagus? I can hardly eat or drink anything and IB prophen hardly takes the edge off.

okay well first of all heartburn medicine doesnt work all that great.heartburn is basically when you consume foods such as things with grease in them such as pizza,hamburgers,etc..and the one attacker spicy foods which you probably already know that when your body gets a certain amount of the capsacin in the spicy food and the acidity in greasy food the acid in your stomach is basically eating its way up your esopagus which causes the heartburn.milk is great it calms your mouth and throat and coats your stomach as well which formas a barrier that keeps the acidity out.u can also try over the counter benzocaine which releives pain(spray)!!well i hope i helped a little.

You can try chewing on rhubarb, eating a banana or drinking kettle tea. Here are some natural cures to help with heartburn.
